Yumbe is an area in northwest Uganda home to the Aringa people group who are roughly 90% Muslim. We visited Yumbe in 2023 to see it for ourselves and pray about what God could be calling us to do there. We thought we would be faced with the overwhelming challenges of reaching Muslims with the gospel, but instead God showed us some amazing opportunities to reach the lost. The four of us who went there were overwhelmed with God showing us how ready people in Yumbe are to receive the gospel of salvation.
We are excited for the opportunity to be a light in this dark place that is ready for eternal life. We pray that by the end of the coming year one of our former students will be living full time in Yumbe to start evangelizing and discipling the people there. We hope that this will also become a training point for future missionaries that will reach Muslims throughout North Africa and the Middle East.
We hope to help them build relationships with the community around them by opening a soft serve ice cream shop and pool hall. We believe this will give them great opportunities to connect with people, especially the youth and young adults. We noticed that the younger generation is not very set on Muslim beliefs and feel there are lots of opportunity to share the love of Jesus with them.
Your donation and financial support can make a difference in the lives of those who don’t yet know the Lord.
Help us support our missions interns as they commit this year to serving the Lord in a different culture and area of Uganda.
Emma and Rosemary are two wonderful and faithful followers of the Lord. They have demonstrated a heart for discipling and raising others up.
Would you pray for this couple and their three children as they have recently relocated to Yumbe and are transitioning their lives into a new land, language, community.
